The chain and bail are made from sterling silver (92.5% silver), meaning they are hypoallergenic and will last much longer than silver plated items. The pendant itself is made from fine silver which is even purer (+99% silver), which has the added benefit of being almost completely tarnish resistant! This means it will stay lovely and shiny with minimal maintenance needed. However fine silver is a bit softer than sterling, so it is not recommended to wear during exercise, etc, as the piece may get scratched.
