This piece is a beautiful dark aqua piece. It was found on the shores of Seaham this December just gone – world famous for its sea glass! It is 100% authentic sea glass and 100% unique.

Gold fill items have x100 thicker layer of gold over their base metal compared to gold plated items (5% vs 0.05%), meaning you get the look and durability of gold whilst still being affordable. Unlike gold plated items, gold fill won’t turn green/brown after a few months and it does not react to water, meaning it is perfect for day-to-day wear. With care it should last 10-30 years.

The bail of this necklace is made from gold vermeil. Gold vermeil is another higher quality and more durable alternative to gold plate. Gold vermeil has a sterling silver base with a layer of gold bonded over the top. This layer isn’t as thick as gold fill but still much thicker than gold plated items, so with care will last a long time too. Vermeil will never go green/brown either as its base metal is sterling silver (as opposed to something like brass or copper).
